The MAA election is taking new twists and turns every day. Originally scheduled to announce the results last month, it’s yet unknown who will be the next president. Meanwhile, the city civil court has dismissed the petition that was filed against the body by O. Kalyan. The court had also fined the petitioner Rs. 10, 000 and has given the nod for the results of elections to be announced on April 17.
According to the Court, Kalyan has been fined for misguiding and foisting false case. He had complained that he sensed foul play in the elections, and hence requested the court to intervene. Jayasudha and Rajendra Prasad locked horns for the post of MAA President, with both parties throwing serious allegations against each other.
Over the last few weeks, members representing the participating candidates publicly criticized each other, especially the inability of actor Murali Mohan, who served as MAA president for the last decade and failed to make any difference.
