Blockbuster Magic Missing From First Single

The first single from highly awaited Maari 2 featuring Dhanush and Sai Pallavi in the lead is out. Maari had a terrific soundtrack courtesy Anirudh, but he has been replaced for the second outing with Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Rowdy Baby – the first single from Maari 2 is a good number. It will definitely grow on further listening, but it is also a fact that it lacks the immediate impact of a song like “Donu Donu Donu” from Maari. The Anirudh song was an instant viral sensation. Many still have it as their ringtones.

Still, the mass combination of Dhanush and Sai Pallavi should be enough to lift Rowdy Baby. With proper placement and picturization, it has all chances to make a long impact. Balaji Mohan of Love Failure fame directs Maari 2, and it will hit screens worldwide on December 21st.
