Mahesh Babu’s Routine Batting In SVP

After scoring a box office blockbuster with Srimanthudu, a message-oriented action drama, Mahesh Babu has mostly been picking films which have relevant social messages. His recent films like Bharath Ane Nenu and Maharshi prove the same.

However, Mahesh’s fans weren’t too pleased with his tendency to continuously pick message-oriented subjects. They wanted him to star in an out-and-out mass film. The teaser and posters of Mahesh’s upcoming film Sarkaru Vaari Paata promised the same.

But the latest updates are implying that Mahesh’s routine ‘social message’ batting will continue in Sarkaru Vaari Paata as well. In the film, he will apparently speak about how defaulters like Vijay Mallya evaded hundreds of crores in taxes while farmers struggle to get even minimal crop loans to continue agriculture.

There’s nothing wrong in delivering relevant social messages through films once in a while. But picking the same template over and over again even at a time fans are rooting for a mass film is leaving even Mahesh’s fans perplexed.

That said, it remains to be seen if the social message is just an aspect of the story and it comes up only during the end portions, or if it’ll be carried through the course of the film.

If the film is packed with all the necessary commercial ingredients for most parts and the social message angle comes only during the climax, fans might be pleased with it, given that they are served necessary action sequences and Mahesh’s trademark mannerisms.
