Maruthi Trashes Rumor on Mahanubhavudu

There are several reports making rounds on the web media that Maruti’s upcoming release ‘Mahanubhavudu’ is the remake of a super hit Malayalam movie ‘North 24 Kaatham’. Is it a remake or is Sharwanand’s film inspired by the Malayalam movie that deals with OCD like in ‘Mahanubhavudu‘?

Giving clarity on the story of the movie, director Maruti says that this movie is neither a remake nor an inspiration from dozen movies that were made using the backdrop of OCD. Yes, he watched those movies but took care that there are no similarities between his ‘Mahanubhavudu’ and other movies.

Maruti gave an example about his story. “Normally, we don’t accept if someone wears our shirt. So, nobody will accept if someone takes away their story.” We have to wait till the film’s release to see how far the reports are genuine and if Maruti had his own story in which the hero of the movie has OCD.
