As things stands today the top three highest grossing films are films from Mega family. The first and highest grosser of course is Pawan Kalyan starrer Atharinikti Daredi and following it are Ram Charan’s Magadheera and Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh. The remaining two films that constitute the top 5 are Mahesh Babu starrer Dookudu and Allu Arjun starrer Race Gurram which means there are 4 ‘Mega’ films among the top 5.
But what would be even more extraordinary is when the top 4 films are from the same family and the way things are shaping up that looks is going to be the case. Race Gurram is continuing it superb run even after it has entered into its fifth week and is looking at overtaking Dookudu’s total collection in another week’s time provided the collections remain as stable as they are today. If and when this achievement is made it truly would be a never before seen kind of trade stat and highlight the dominance of the ‘Mega’ family in Telugu cinema.
