There has been a lot of controversy about who scored the BGM for Pushpa 2.
In the movie, the formal credits for the music and BGM are given to DSP. Sam CS is described as “additional background score”. Also, Thaman claims to have contributed to the BGM, he was nowhere credited in the title cards.

However, in a recent interview, SAM CS claims that he composed 90% of the BGM. This statement of his is again sure to raise a lot of controversy.
Sam CS says he played a significant role in the music for Pushpa 2. While some of Devi Sri Prasad’s music was retained, about 90% of the background score, including the climax fight, was composed by Sam.

He said he focused on creating powerful rhythms and catchy hooks, knowing how much the Telugu audience enjoys them.
Collaborating with another composer, especially on a big film like Pushpa 2, was challenging. He acknowledged that the film primarily belongs to DSP, and due to the tight production timeline, he was brought in to complete the work.

The BGM of Pushpa 2 is being appreciated. It maintains the tempo of the first and improves in giving a classier yet massy appeal.
