There was significant hype surrounding Brahmanandam’s comic role in Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD, especially after the launch of the animation series Bujji & Bhairava, which served as a prelude to the film.
However, the audience was left disappointed. The scenes between Prabhas and Brahmanandam were not funny at all, contributing only to the film’s length without adding the expected humor. This led to further lag in the screenplay.

Now, Brahmanandam is cast in Shankar’s Indian 2. After a long gap, he is acting in a major Tamil film again. Recently, he attended the grand audio launch event for Indian 2 in Chennai.
During the event, Brahmanandam praised Shankar, recognizing him not only as a great director but also as an exceptional individual. He also commended Kamal Haasan for his unwavering commitment to acting and expressed pride in acting in Indian 2.

When a big director like Shankar casts Brahmanandam in a film like Indian 2, there are expectations that he isn’t there just for his namesake. It is expected that there is good scope for him to perform as an actor.
Although comedy isn’t Shankar’s strong zone, it remains to be seen if he can create memorable comic scenes with a legendary actor like Brahmanandam.
