Nani’s highly anticipated film, “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram,” was officially launched in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Penned and directed by Vivek Athreya, this film is being produced by DVV Danayya.
Nani is on a high these days after the success of Dasara. The inside reports of his upcoming emotional drama film, Hi Nanna, are also promising.
However, he’s now venturing into the realm of unabashed commercial mass entertainment with “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.” Notably, he’s taking a significant risk by collaborating with individuals whose last Telugu films were not-so-successful.
The film’s leading lady, Priyanka Arul Mohan, exudes grace and beauty. Yet, her debut Telugu film, “Gang Leader” (which also starred Nani), failed to make an impact, and her performance went largely unnoticed.
Director-turned-actor SJ Suryah takes on the role of the antagonist in this film. His last Telugu venture was “SPYder” alongside Mahesh Babu, and though he earned acclaim for his performance, the film itself was a major disappointment.
Nevertheless, SJ Suryah has garnered a strong following in recent years thanks to his entertaining roles in movies like “Mersal,” “Maanaadu,” and “Mark Anthony.” He is unquestionably an asset to Nani’s film.
Director Vivek Athreya also faced a setback with his last film, “Ante Sundaraniki.” While the film found favor with a particular audience, the majority perceived it as lengthy and unsuitable for a theatrical viewing.
Despite his recent flop, it’s undeniable that Vivek Athreya is a director worth keeping an eye on. He represents the emerging wave of cinema in Tollywood that is unconventional yet grounded in sensibility. With “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram,” we can only hope that Vivek achieves a major box office success.
