Reddy discussed the dilemma he faced after producing the successful film “Akhanda” and his well-wishers’ suggestions to work with big star heroes and directors.
However, he emphasized the importance of a compelling story and expressed his belief that “Peddha Kapu 1” possesses the potential to be a remarkable film in Telugu cinema. He stated that the movie’s storyline, which portrays the struggles of the common man, deeply impressed him.
He emphasized that “Peddha Kapu 1” was made with utmost sincerity and authenticity, with real locations and historical accuracy being central to the project.
The film’s unique title, “Peddha Kapu,” was explained as a discovery during location scouting, where Addala learned of the positive impact of a person named Peddha Kapu on a village.
Reddy revealed that they decided to name the film after this figure due to its suitability for the storyline and not based on any specific caste. He said that the film is about a common man who suffers atrocities and becomes a leader and also the protector of people who have suffered just like him. So ‘Peddha Kapu’ is the best title for the film.
Regarding the film’s lead actor, Virat Karrna, Reddy mentioned that he was chosen for his realistic appearance and suitability for the character of Karna and not because he was their relative. Reddy expressed his confidence in Virat’s potential as a hero.
When asked if NTR or TDP is shown in a good light or bad light in the film, Reddy said that no one can portray NTR in a bad way. He is dear to people in both Telugu states.
When asked to comment on the recent political turmoil in Andhra Pradesh, he said that he is not the right person and doesn’t have the eligibility to comment on such issues.
In terms of future projects, Reddy mentioned the possibility of “Akhanda 2” and the release of “Peddha Kapu 2.” He also disclosed an upcoming collaboration with actor Adivi Sesh and mentioned that several other story discussions were in progress.
