NTR and Yash, both acclaimed South Indian superstars, are taking a huge plunge by venturing into mainstream Bollywood cinema. These projects will indeed have a pan-India appeal, but they will predominantly be regarded as Bollywood projects.
And the coincidence doesn’t end here. Both are doing multistarrers.
Yash assumes the role of Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s rendition of Ramayana, where Ranbir Kapoor portrays Lord Rama. Meanwhile, NTR takes on the role of the antihero opposite Hrithik Roshan in WAR 2.
Ravana is a very powerful role, and when executed skillfully under adept direction, the actor playing the character can undoubtedly steal the show with his histrionics.
Yash made a smart decision by choosing the role of Ravana which presents him with a prime opportunity to outshine Ranbir Kapoor through his masterful performance.
On the contrary, it won’t be an easy task for NTR to outshine a stalwart like Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik excels in roles akin to his character in WAR 2—he possesses striking good looks, exceptional dancing abilities, and unparalleled style, all of which will naturally make the audience root for him.
NTR must put huge amounts of effort into convincingly portraying the perfect foil to someone of Hrithik Roshan’s caliber. While NTR’s acting talent is unquestionable, he must dedicate himself to refining other departments to match Hrithik’s screen presence and aura and win over the audience’s support.
Overall, NTR faces a notably more difficult challenge compared to Yash’s.
