Confirming earlier speculations, Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger has sealed Disney+ Hotstar as its official OTT streaming partner. The same is confirmed as the film hit the silver screens today.
All the while, it was heard that Disney+ Hotstar paid too bucks for the OTT rights of Liger, and that’s understandable given the Puri-Vijay combo.
Notably, Liger is the first Telugu biggie to release after Tollywood producer’s guild announced that all new releases will have to impose 8-weeks no-OTT rule.
Even the makers stated that the film will not arrive on OTT anytime soon. Meaning, the film is likely to arrive in October, if not later. That is if the 8–week proposition is imposed.
While the OTT streaming rights are with Disney+ Hotstar, the television rights are with Star MAA.
Liger is an action thriller featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. The film is directed by Puri Jagannadh.
