Pawan Kalyan currently has two major films in the pipeline — Hari Hara Veera Mallu and OG. While Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set for release on May 9, the buzz is noticeably higher for OG. Fans are eagerly awaiting OG, especially after its teaser created massive hype.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which started before the COVID pandemic, faced multiple delays, causing audience interest to dip. The project changing directors — from Krish to AM Jyothi Krishna — further lowered expectations.
Meanwhile, OG, directed by Sujeeth, has maintained strong hype. Due to Pawan Kalyan’s busy political commitments, both films faced delays. However, recent updates suggest Pawan will allocate dates for Veera Mallu in April and OG in May and June.
Rumors now indicate that OG could arrive in September, which excites fans. However, securing a solo release may be challenging. Films like Akhanda 2 and Rajinikanth’s Coolie are also eyeing September slots.
If the OG team plans a September release, announcing the date soon could help avoid clashes and ensure better promotional planning.
However, if OG keeps getting delayed, it risks meeting the same fate as Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Even hardcore fans may lose interest if the postponements continue.
Moreover, Pawan Kalyan’s current focus on politics over cinema has impacted his look and physique, making him seem less suited for a top-tier hero role.
Prolonged delays could further worsen his appearance in the film. Excessive use of VFX to mask this may end up looking artificial and fake giving chance for haters to troll.
To maintain excitement, the team must avoid repeated postponements and ensure both films release as soon as possible.
