Overaction in promotions backfires!

As the promotions for film Tamasha is in full swing, it is easy quite easy to see Ranbir and Deepika all over the place involved in hugging, dancing and all other displays of affection. This however raises the question whether it is genuine or just to capture the attention of the audience.

Truth is, this kind of promotion strategy for films has been there for a long time. Ranbir and Deepika who used to be a couple have a fair share of history in media and it is the perfect time to rekindle their relationship in media, although platonically. For a commercial film like Tamasha, this can easily pull in many viewers who are charmed by their onscreen flirting and affectionate displays.

But the fact is that today the audience is more aware of the actual equation that actors share and they are not easily taken in by the tomfoolery. No wonder that the over-the-top promotion of Tamasha based on Ranbir and Deepika’s past is backfiring.
