The government of India has apparently announced its list of Padma awardees for the year, and it also features actors such as Kamal Haasan and Vidya Balan. While the former has been awarded Padma Bhushan, the latter will receive Padma Shri award for the year 2013. The official list will be released this evening.
Kamal has previously been awarded the Padma Shri many years ago, and this award comes at the right time. Kamal, who has starred in over 200 awards, gets this award after a long wait, while his counterpart like superstar Rajinikanth has already been awarded Padma Vibhushan. I still fail to understand how can he be presented the Padma Vibhushan without even receiving Padma Bhushan.
The list is likely to be announced this evening or tomorrow on the occasion of Republic Day.
