Pahalgam Attack: Prakash Raj Bashed for Vulgar Post

The tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, has reignited public outrage. The anger is not just over the brutal loss of lives but also over past comments made by actor Prakash Raj.

The attack has been attributed to The Resistance Front — a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba. It claimed the lives of 27 tourists, including several children and families. The massacre unfolded in Baisaran meadow, a popular tourist destination, triggering widespread grief and anger.

Many people online are now revisiting Prakash Raj’s controversial remarks from 2022. Back then, he dismissed The Kashmir Files as a “vulgar, propaganda film.”

The movie depicted the 1990s exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and had sparked a nationwide debate. However, it also faced criticism from certain actors and political voices, including Raj.

In the wake of the Pahalgam tragedy, many social media users are expressing deep pain and frustration. Several posts describe the attack as the “massacre of 27 Hindus,” claiming the victims were targeted and killed one by one.

For many, this horrifying event is seen as a grim validation of The Kashmir Files and its depiction of past atrocities.

Prakash Raj is now facing intense backlash. Netizens are tagging him in posts and questioning his silence, asking where he has disappeared now. Many are urging him to publicly retract his earlier statements.

Some accuse him of trivializing genuine suffering by mocking the film’s message. As emotions run high, this controversy has become a flashpoint, with Prakash Raj getting all the thrashing.
