Kantara fame Rishab Shetty is a busy man currently as he is involved with several projects under his name. Despite having a tough schedule ahead of him consisting of various Pan-India projects, fans have been targeting the Kannada actor for being a hypocrite.
The Kantara fame recently shared that he will be portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj under the direction of Sandeep Singh. Shetty always had straightforward opinions regarding exploring Hindi Cinema and was always in opposition to the idea of acting in any other film industry than the Kannada film industry.

He stated how he would never leave the Kannada Film industry at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) back in 2023. “There are many beautiful opportunities that I am missing because I feel I should not leave the Kannada film industry. It’s a sentiment” said the actor.
Soon after the announcement of the Shivaji Maharaj biopic, fans attacked the star on the internet for being a hypocrite and making a Pan-Indian film ultimately. Fans have also been calling out the actor for not playing the role of a Kannada Warrior rather than acting as a Maharaj.

Looking at the move from a broader perspective, there might be nothing wrong with acting in multiple languages as an actor will surely look to captivate more audiences and viewers. While the remarks from Shetty were considered bold back in the day, they show how actors should not make such statements as everyone ultimately wants to draw a larger audience and become a Pan-Indian star.
