After Hrithik, Parasuram’s Long Hunt Finally Ends?

For a brief period, reports claiming that director Parasuram would direct Hrithik Roshan in a film backed by Hombale Films created a lot of buzz. The rumors also surprised many, considering Parasuram’s recent track record.

Parasuram’s career has been a mix of highs and lows. After making his debut with Yuvatha, he directed films like Anjaneyulu, Solo, Sarocharu, and Srirastu Subhamastu. While some performed reasonably well, it was Geetha Govindam that transformed his career. The blockbuster success earned him the opportunity to direct Mahesh Babu in Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

However, Sarkaru Vaari Paata received mixed reactions, and many Mahesh Babu fans felt it didn’t live up to expectations. Parasuram’s next film, The Family Star, was outright rejected at the box office and drew heavy trolling.

That is why the Hrithik Roshan rumors caught everyone off guard. With Hrithik himself looking for a solid comeback after War 2 flopped badly and his cameo in Alpha failed to create any buzz, the combination seemed unlikely. Eventually, those reports turned out to be false.

Now, a much more believable piece of industry gossip is making the rounds.

According to reports, Parasuram has narrated a story to Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, and the actor is said to have liked it. Industry buzz suggests Kalyan Ram has given his initial approval, with the project expected to move forward once he completes his ongoing multistarrer with Venkatesh.

Interestingly, Parasuram is said to have spent the last several months pitching the same script to multiple Telugu stars. There was also talk that he explored the project in Bollywood, but none of those discussions reportedly materialized. That has now brought his focus back to Tollywood.

Another report suggests that Dil Raju is likely to produce the film once again after The Family Star.

For Parasuram, this could be a make-or-break project. After The Family Star, he needs a film that restores confidence in his writing, direction, and box office credibility. Kalyan Ram, on the other hand, has been choosing different kinds of stories in recent years, and this project could be another interesting addition to his lineup if it materializes.
