Yes, Pawan Kalyan has nothing to do with Baahubali or its audio launch but he had somehow crept into the audio launch through an unexpected connection. The connection happens to be actor Adavi Sesh.

Cast and crew of the film Baahubali were being invited to the audio launch stage to speak about the film or the character they were playing. So when Adavi Sesh came to speak, the actor was asked to not reveal much about his film character. The excited actor wanted to speak something and thus brought in the Panjaa connection which was also produced by Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda.
When Panjaa was brought naturally Pawan Kalyan’s name too was evoked which resulted in a loud thunder from the audience. Rajamouli was immediately seen visibly uncomfortable for a moment and then returned to normalcy soon and had a bright smile. This was something no one could have anticipated for sure and hence it caught everyone unaware.
