The intense stand-off between Tollywood producers and single-screen exhibitors has officially come to an end. In an official letter issued by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, President D. Suresh Babu confirmed that a unanimous settlement has been reached. All parties have formally agreed to ensure a smooth, hurdle-free theatrical release for Ram Charan’s highly anticipated pan-Indian sports drama, Peddi.
The resolution introduces a structured, interim financial model specifically for Peddi to satisfy exhibitors while long-term policies are ironed out. In the event of a ticket price hike, an additional 7.5% revenue share will be paid out. Furthermore, a fixed-rate structure has been finalized for lucrative premier shows, mandating a per-show payment of ₹25,000 for ‘A’ centers, ₹15,000 for ‘B’ centers, and ₹5,000 for ‘C’ centers to balance the high stakes.
Most importantly, the letter confirms a historic, structural shift for the industry. While Peddi will proceed safely under these temporary terms, the Film Chamber has officially committed to permanently implementing a percentage-sharing system for exhibitors. The final guidelines and timelines for this new system are scheduled to be fully locked and executed before the next major Tollywood biggie arrives or by the end of June 2026.
