Good Talk But No BO Numbers

The Telugu dubbed version of the Malayalam film Premalu has hit the theaters on the 8th of this month. The film already had a positive reverberation following its original Malayalam release, and the opening reception for the Telugu version was also good.

Despite getting a good word of mouth, the box office prospects of Premalu are looking strictly limited. The opening day box office numbers of the film are strictly minimal.

Premalu garnered pretty decent reviews as well, pairing with the youthful content the film has to offer but the box office reception is not so promising. Lack of any familiar faces appears to be working against the cause here.

But considering that there is very little at stake for the Telugu version, we have to see how the film fares over the weekend. Rajamouli’s son Karthikeya released the film in Telugu. The dubbing works and dialogues were also finely appreciated but the interest from the Telugu folk is lacking.

Gaami an Bhimaa are the two available options for the Telugu folks and they are eating into the prospects of Premalu. Perhaps a solo release could have worked more in its favor.
