Political Issue Halts Release Tomorrow

Young Tamil superstar Dhanush’s romantic thriller ‘Thodari’ is going to hit theatres this Friday on 22nd September. But, the film isn’t going to have a release in Karnataka because of the ongoing political conflict between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The Cauvery river issue is the reason behind this dispute between this conflict. No theatre in Karnataka is ready to take a risk by releasing Thodari‘. The release of the film in this State will be stalled as they have the fear of attacks from the protestors.

This also implies that the distributors who bought the rights for Karnataka for record price are going to suffer very badly. The same thing happened for Vikram’s ‘Iru Mugan’, which was also stalled release because of the Cauvery River dispute.
