Generally, when a big project featuring a big superstar is in production, the director will prefer to employ some of the leading technicians in the industry. And particularly so when the film is involving a superstar like Prabhas.
But in the case of his upcoming film Fauzi, which is currently under production, director Hanu Raghavapudi has taken a pretty big decision with regard to the technical team.
The makers had released a new promotional video yesterday on the occasion of Prabhas’s birthday. This video had a decent visual appeal, but the background score was a bit all over the place.
Generally, when a visual of Prabhas is projected in a promotional material, pumping background score with adrenaline rushing vibe is expected to be delivered. But that was not the case with the video as a new instrumentation was used to elevate Prabhas.
The innovation and desire to create a new musical impact is to be appreciated. But there are certain commercial meters that are to be met when a commercial star like Prabhas is involved. Fans expected solid score to match the visual of Prabhas.
Many people are commenting that it is always going to be a risk to utilise the services of an outbound music composer like Vishal Chandrashekhar for a Prabhas film. There are any conventional star options like Anirudh, Rahman, or even Thaman for that matter who can grasp what’s needed.
But at the end of the day, this is always going to be a creative choice made by the Director and Hanu appears to have fully trusted Vishal for the job. He had indeed delivered musical blockbusters like Padi Padi Leche Manasu, Sita Ramam and others.
But composing music for a Prabhas film as a completely different task out together, and it has to be seen if this risk taken by Hanu with Vishal would eventually pay off on the big screen.
