Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has once again hit back at rumours claiming she took a ₹18 crore loan, calling the entire story “completely fake.”
Taking to X, she didn’t hold back. Preity said the claim was built on misinformation and then blindly circulated, turning into a full-blown rumour. Despite clarifying it earlier, she said the same question keeps coming back, showing how quickly false narratives stick.
She also took a direct swipe at how social media works today. According to her, fake news spreads faster than facts, especially when people share without verifying.
Preity went a step further and called out the culture of paid PR and manufactured publicity. She said she does not believe in buying media attention and prefers genuine interaction instead of “paid noise.”
She also flagged the growing trend of fake engagement, where followers, likes and narratives are artificially boosted. This, she said, has turned social media into a marketplace rather than a space for real connection.
The actress made one thing very clear, the ₹18 crore loan story has no truth at all.
In today’s digital world, a rumour doesn’t need proof, it just needs momentum.
