Pushpa 2: Overseas Gamble Not Telugu Version!

Without an iota of doubt, Pushpa 2 is the most potential pan-India prospect not just from Telugu, but from the entire South Indian film industry.

It is known that Pushpa 2 makers are quoting never-heard, unreasonable prices for overseas distributors, but the deal has not closed yet.

The latest buzz is that Mythri has decided to opt for its own release for overseas through Cinestaan AA Distributors.

The main reason for their confidence is not the Telugu version and its potential. Mythri’s Naveen and Ravi are looking at the Hindi version’s box office potential when it comes to overseas. Hindi collections are expected to surpass those of the Telugu version by many times.

Even though Pushpa 2 will generate tremendous buzz, going by current market trends, if the film receives an average talk, it may not break any records in its Telugu version, as a significant portion of the U.S. audience, mainly families, will wait for the OTT release. This section only moves to theaters for one director, and that is Rajamouli’s films. That’s why we see his films easily surpass the $10 million mark.

However, in the case of Hindi, even an average talk is expected to generate big numbers. That is their confidence.

In fact, Pushpa 2 is the only Tollywood film with the potential to attract Hindi audiences to theaters until Rajamouli’s movie with Mahesh Babu arrives.

But there is a catch: Pushpa 2 will undoubtedly have a strong opening and perform well with average talk in India, but when it comes to countries like the U.S., it remains uncertain whether the Hindi-speaking population will flock to theaters. It is a suspense and will only become clear closer to the release when we see the pre-sales of North America.
