Telugu actor Jagadish Prathap Bhandari, known for his role as Keshava in Pushpa, has been arrested by Panjagutta police for his alleged involvement in the suicide of a junior artist.
Latest reports reveal that Jagadish had blackmailed the woman with intimate photos. He confessed during the trial that he took these pictures when she was intimate with another man so that he could blackmail and force her to reconcile her relationship with him.
According to reports, Jagadish, who had come to the city for film opportunities, had a relationship with the woman five years ago.
As his career advanced with the success of Pushpa, his behaviour reportedly changed, leading the woman to distance herself and seek a relationship with another man.
On the 27th of the previous month, Jagadish entered her flat, took intimate photos of her with another man, and threatened to expose them on social media. Despite her requests to delete the photos, harassment persisted, leading to the woman’s distress and eventual suicide by hanging.
Her father filed a complaint, accusing Jagadish of violence and threats. Arrested on the 6th of this month, Jagadish confessed during interrogation and was sent to remand for two days before being returned to custody.
