So far, the Telugu movies in the spy thriller genre have been serious attempts with a pinch of comedy in them. In Raja Vikramarka, it is taken to the next level. In fact, the first half of the trailer feels more like a comedy entertainer than a movie in the said genre.
Still, what works is the freshness. The writing and camaraderie between Karthikeya and Tanikella Bharani are neatly done in the video. If there is more to it and inbuilt humour in the setup, the narrative will benefit greatly from it.
The second half of the trailer is where the thriller element comes into the picture. There is a serious, darker tone, and the actors look the part. The presence of Pasupathy adds intrigue, and so does the political backdrop involving a Home Minister and a potential bomb blast like scenario.
The various elements mixed in the story makes it difficult to pull off a cohesive narrative, generally. We have to see if Raja Vikramarka escapes from the trend.
Check out the trailer below. Tanya Ravichandran plays the female lead in the movie. Sai Kumar, Harsha Vardhan and Sudhakar Komakula etc., play vital supporting parts. Prashanth R Vihari is the music director. The action-comedy is slated to hit screens on November 12th, all over.
