Coming to the topic, Ram Gopal Varma, who has his own set of observations about everything had come up with an interesting statement when asked about the reason behind the slump in the industry and he linked with Rajamouli.
“Rajamouli did two major things. The first thing is that he showed our films can collect Rs 1000 crores plus, the second is that he executes projects with so much vision and flare that it is impossible to match him. After watching Rajamouli’s films, every other film seems small and insignificant. He is the reason behind all the mess,” RGV said.
Varma goes on to add that the industry bigwigs’ mindset keeps changing every Friday when a new film releases.
“Like for instance 90% of the industry hates KGF 2 but the film was a blockbuster. Saying the OTT killed theatrical market is a speculation. It can be anything that’s troubling the industry. It is upon every producer to do what’s best for his film. Collective decisions in this regard aren’t viable,” he concludes.
