Rajamouli’s Father Should Stop Making Calls

Writer Vijayendra Prasad

Director Puri Jagannadh’s Double iSmart is out, and the verdict is clear. A few films may fail, but a film like Double iSmart, with plenty of double meanings and vulgar dialogues, will put the director to shame.

Puri recently said that Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, called him after Liger became a disaster and told Puri to share his story to see if he could be of any help. Puri mentioned that he did not narrate the Double iSmart story to Vijayendra Prasad but revealed the phone call.

Now, after watching Double iSmart and the way Puri handled it, one might feel that Rajamouli’s father should stop making such calls.

What’s the point when so many people are willing to give their feedback, but directors like Puri feel they know everything and keep going to the rock bottom of their careers, as if they have a goal to deliver a disaster after a disaster?

It is an insult to people like Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, to offer help to filmmakers who don’t care but deliver a shameful output, even though they are at a critical stage of their careers.
