Rajini’s Lingaa sets new benchmark

When its a Superstar film that is going to release soon how can we not expect some mind blowing numbers from business circles. After all it is only Rajinikanth who is the pan South Indian Superstar with equally strong markets in all the other South states apart from Tamil Nadu.

So here we have it almost a month before the tentative release of the film. Lingaa has been reportedly picked up for a whopping 125 Cr by EROS. The rights for the film include the Tamil and Telugu dubbed version’s theatrical exhibition. It also includes the Kerala and Karnataka exhibition as well. Audio and satellite rights are not part of this deal which makes it the biggest pre release business record for a South Indian film.

Lingaa is directed by KS Ravikumar. A teaser which has been released recently has been lapped up by fans of the star and they can no longer wait for the film. According to the people in trade the movie is expected to arrive as announced on December 12 for Superstar’s birthday.
