The entire Kollywood expressed its solidarity for AIADMK chief Jayalalitha in the form of silent protest on Tuesday by condemning the arrest of Puratchi Thalaivi in the possession of inapproriate assets case. Many Kollywood biggies were in attendance for the silent protest to support Jayalalitha. The popularity of Jayalalitha among the masses is actually very high of late and her arrest has caused a great deal of unrest in Tamil Nadu.

Instead of helping opposition party, Jayalalitha’s arrest has caused the decline of the fame of DMK surprisingly. The party activists celebrated the conviction of Jaya which deteriorated DMK’s image in the eyes of common people. In this scenario, superstar Rajnikanth’s absence for the silent protest became the talk of the town. Latest, there is a buzz that BJP would try everyway to pull Rajni into the party going by Modi’s meet with Rajni during the recent pre-election campaign. Though sources close to Rajni claim that ‘Linga’ shooting is the reason for Rajnikanth’s absence, political observers see this conspicuous absence in different light.
