Ramayana Early Review Sparks Debate Over RRR and VFX

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is arriving on the big screen in a few more weeks, and the excitement is taking a different form with every passing day. Meanwhile, an early review of the film has created a new debate on social media.

Notably, Priya Mathew from NYTimes has seen the film and she shared her opinion about the film. Priya claimed in her review that Ramayana does not surpass the level of RRR, and she even pointed out a few other things that did not impress her.

Priya said that she watched the film in English and claimed that the dubbing was not up to the mark. Some reactions to Priya’s review say that certain scenes in the film looked cartoonish and AI-generated.

She stated that she felt connected to the story, which was emotional and powerful, and the music was equally good. Priya also said that the portions composed by AR Rahman were much better compared to the ones done by Hans Zimmer.

In another tweet that she posted, Priya clarified that although she prefers RRR instead of Ramayana, it does not mean that everyone else is going to do the same. Priya wrote that Western people have more appreciation for RRR since S.S. Rajamouli is a visionary director, and his vision always appears in the final product that he brings to the theatres.

While the points from Priya’s review are going viral, netizens are expressing doubts about what they will get to see at the theatres. Some even questioned the makers after reading the review, asking where they spent so much money if the VFX is not up to the mark.

On the other hand, fans of Ranbir Kapoor and the other cast members are happy because the film won’t land itself in any controversy. The supporters wrote that, for now, a good sign from the review is that there are no complaints related to the cinematic liberties.

Advance booking for Ramayana has already opened in India and is getting a decent response so far, which shows slowly starting to get filled up. Let’s wait and see if anything claimed in the early review will turn out to be true in the final product.
