Ranbir Tried Telugu, Why Do Our Stars Choose English?

Ranbir Kapoor struggled a bit while speaking Telugu at the Ramayana event. But that is understandable as Telugu is not his native language, and speaking it on stage in front of a big audience is not easy. At least he tried to speak in Telugu instead of switching to English.

At pre-release events in the Telugu states, we often see actors speaking in English, even when they know Telugu. Although they may have their own reasons fans only appreciate it when an actor tries to speak their language.

Ranbir may not have spoken Telugu fluently, and struggled with a few words, but he was trying to connect with the Telugu audience in their own language. Speaking a few lines on stage might look simple, but it is not that easy when you are not familiar with the language.

With Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor is part of a film that is expected to reach audiences across India. Ranbir’s Telugu speech was not perfect, but that should not be the point. He made an effort, and that deserves appreciation.

Fans do not expect an actor from another industry to speak Telugu perfectly. They know it takes time to learn a language. Seeing someone make an honest attempt is enough to leave a good impression, and Ranbir did that at the event.
