Lately Deepika Padukone one of the most sought-after actors in Indian cinema, has found herself caught in negative PR. Two Telugu film productions reportedly complained about her strict eight-hour work policy and decided to drop her from their projects. Both these films are very big in terms of market potential: the Kalki 2898 AD sequel and Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Meanwhile Rashmika Mandanna whose Bollywood and Telugu careers are both going strong attended an event for her upcoming film ‘The Girlfriend’. At the event, small films producer SKN took an indirect dig at Deepika while praising Rashmika.
He said, “While some actors complain about an eight-hour work policy, Rashmika doesn’t care how long she has to work.” The intention was clearly to target Deepika while flattering Rashmika. Interestingly, Rashmika was seen smiling and enjoying the remark, even though she is now working in Bollywood films.
Deepika Padukone will next be seen alongside Allu Arjun in a big-budget film. The performance of this movie, along with the success or failure of the projects she was dropped from, will likely spark discussions about whether these decisions had any significant impact on her career or potential losses.
