It seems that it is a season of small movies in Tollywood these days. Indeed, with lots of big ticket Telugu films getting postponed, The Tollywood is seeing the release of a fair amount of small films. In just the last two months, nearly fifty small time Telugu films including both straight and dubbed hit the silver screens. It is being speculated that this rise of small time films is due to the void left by the rescheduling and delay of big ticket films like Ram Charan’s Yevadu and Pawan Kalyan’s Atharintiki Daredi. The reason behind the delay of these films is the ongoing agitations regarding the issue of the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
It is also important here to note that even though a big number of small time films have seen the light of the day during the last two months, not even few films had the taste of success.
