But the real sucker punch came on Sunday as the film went on a rampage in mass pockets across northern India. RRR collected a whopping Rs 30-31 crores nett in the Hindi market on its third day, Sunday.
The film collected Rs 3.5 crores in Bihar in its first weekend. This is the highest weekend tally for any film that released post the Covid pandemic. In Odisha, where South Indian dubbed films have a good market, RRR had a Rs 2 crores nett weekend.
RRR is said to be doing pretty well in other mass pockets like Rajasthan and Gujarat as well. It is on course to post the highest revenues for any film post the pandemic and also the record for highest single-day collections for any film in Gujarat.
RRR has now registered an impressive Rs 74-crore nett weekend in the Hindi belt. It remains to be seen how the film will hold in the second week.
