Prashanth Neel’s ‘Salaar’ and Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ both received mixed reviews but are holding steadily at the North American box office.
Prabhas’s ‘Salaar’ leads the race, amassing a massive $7 million ($7,386,128) so far, with the trend indicating a stable hold.
Salaar may end up between $8.5 Million – $9 Million, a massive grosser.
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ started slow but has been maintaining a steady performance, reaching $5 million ($5,627,542) in collections.
Hindi films typically have longer runs in North America, so ‘Dunki’ has a good chance of meeting ‘Salaar’ or possibly surpassing it.
Overall, ‘Salaar’ has performed exceptionally well, while ‘Dunki’ has done decently.
However, a $5 million gross for a Hindi film isn’t considered big due to the vast Hindi-speaking population in this market and with a combination like Hirani-SRK.
