Samantha Exposes Male-Dominated Tollywood

There’s no doubt that every movie industry in India is still male-biased and male-dominated. People talk sweetly about women on stage, praising and “encouraging” them, but most of it is just formality. Samantha has once again exposed this hypocrisy.

Director Nandini Reddy who made her mark with Ala Modalaindi in 2011, has directed half a dozen films since then, including a part in webseries. Despite proving her talent, she continues to struggle to get her projects rolling in this male-dominated, hypocritical industry.

Her last film, Anni Manchi Sakunamule released in 2023 and didn’t perform as expected. Now, almost two years later, she has finally found a producer for her next film – Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Samantha is producing Maa Inti Bangaram under her banner Tralala Pictures. The film is officially directed by Nandini Reddy.

But behind this collaboration lies a harsh truth: a talented female director had to wait for a female producer to step in and back her career.

Even Nandini Reddy’s previous film Anni Manchi Sakunamule was produced by another woman, Swapna Dutt. The moral is clear – talent alone isn’t enough. The gender bias in the industry continues, and 2025 doesn’t seem much different.
