The last time Ram Charan worked with a Tamil filmmaker, things did not go well as director Shankar delivered a disaster with Game Changer. The film’s failure has left Shankar without another project in hand, making it difficult to convince any other star hero now.
Still, there is one golden opportunity for Shankar. This could be the sequel to Aparichitudu. The first part, released a couple of decades ago, had a strong socially relevant theme that continues to hold meaning even today, giving it a perfect hook for continuation.
If Shankar wants to bring a project to life with a noteworthy hero, Vikram is the natural choice. He starred in the first part and carries the legacy of that character. Although Vikram is a big hero, he has not had a hit for a long time, and his commercial standing is at its lowest.
A collaboration between Shankar and Vikram could work well. They share a successful history, and combining the potential of the plot with Vikram’s versatility gives Shankar a real chance to mount a quick and impactful project.
This is a valuable opportunity for both Shankar and Vikram. But the key will be to avoid mistakes seen in Indian 2. If executed properly, this sequel has every chance to deliver solid results and revive both their careers.
