Shocking! Famous Director KV Anand No More

KV Anand DiedIn a shocking turn of events, director KV Anand famous for films like Veedokkade (Ayan), Rangam (Ko), and Anekudu (Anegan), has breathed his last. He died of cardiac arrest earlier in the morning (3 AM) in Chennai. He was 54 years old.

KV Anand started his career as a photojournalist assisting PC Sreeram. He later turned cinematographer and was part of many blockbuster movies. He worked with director Shankar back to back on film Oke Okkadu, Naayak, Boys and later on Shivaji.

The directorial debut happened in between his cinematography works with Kana Kandaen. It was a moderate success. However, it was his association with Suriya that took him to the next level. He made Veedokkade (Ayan) first with him. they later went on to work on two more movies, Brothers and Bandobasth.

In Telugu, KV Anand is most famous for his movie Rangam (Ko). The film starring Jeeva was a sleeper blockbuster and earned Anand an excellent reputation for the story and direction.

Irrespective of the success, KV Anand’s films had unique themes and content and made on larger than life scale, much like Shankar movies. His association with music director Harish Jayaraj has been fruitful as the duo delivered several blockbuster albums. The songs, too, were shot exquisitely.

KV Anand’s demise at such a young age is undoubtedly a huge loss to the industry and movie lovers. May his soul rest in peace.
