The delay of “Salaar” from September 28 created a significant opportunity for other films in the industry, including Ram’s Skanda.
Initially, with “Salaar” set for September 28, there was little room for other movies to compete. However, the postponement has prompted other filmmakers to consider this date. Unfortunately, in their rush to secure the release date, some movies may have missed out on a very good festive period.
September 15, during the Vinayaka Chaviti weekend, would have been an ideal release date for “Skanda.” The extended weekend would have offered a great advantage, potentially resulting in strong box office numbers. This was a missed opportunity.
The period between September 15 and 20 was a perfect festive window for “Skanda,” aligning well with Boyapati’s meter. While the makers could have moved the release to September 15, they chose to stick with September 28, even though it will now face competition from “Chandramukhi 2” and “Peddha Kapu.”
Boyapati seems confident in his film’s potential to succeed in this three-way clash and is not worried about the competition. Whether the makers of Skanda have made the right or wrong decision will be known only after three to four days of its release.
