Sold: NTR For A Whopping Price – Is Huge Risk Involved?

The NTR biopic coming in two parts is one of the most keenly awaited films of Nandamuri Balakrishna. It is the season of biopics across the country, naturally and Telugu cinema too has come to party with a fabulous movie. Naturally, the curiosity and expectations are high on NTR which can be seen in its business.

Considering the career and past films of Nandamuri Balakrishna, NTR biopic is creating ripples in the trade. The rights are picked up a fancy price all over. But, it is the US territory that takes the cake. It is reportedly sold for 19.80 Cr, US Telugu has bought the rights. That is for two parts, NTR –Kathanayakudu and NTR – Mahanayakudu though.

So basically, NTR biopic has to get to the number Gautamiputra Shatakarni reached twice over and weeks apart. Given the current market expansion of the Telugu films in the year with multiple two million movies, it definitely makes sense business wise. But, there is always an apprehension with Balakrishna involved. The Krish and biopic factor is what makes people take the risk. Will it be worth it, we will get an idea after the trailer is out in a month or so.

NTR – Kathanayakudu releases on January 9th whereas NTR – Mahanayakudu is slated to arrive on January 24th as of now.
