We have in Telugu cinema father and son both being actors and doing films simultaneously. But very rarely have their films clashed as in most cases either they would be doing multi-starrers or the father wouldn’t be actively making films.
The only recent instant of near clash that one could see was when Greekuveerudu and Tadakha released in close proximity of each other. But in Malayalam film industry this week one is going to witness father and son have a head on clash unlike in Telugu films.
Films of father Mammootty and son Dulquer Salman are going to hit screens at the same time on April 17 in Chennai. So far son has beaten the father in terms of release as his film Ok Kanmani (Ok Bangaram) is getting bigger release than father’s Bhaskar the Rascal. Will the eventual fate of the films too be same or will star father show his star power? Let’s wait and see.
