Sreeleela has been going through a rough patch in Telugu cinema. After back-to-back flops like Skanda, Aadikeshava, and Extra Ordinary Man, her graph took a serious dip. Even her latest release Robinhood turned out to be a total washout.
With so many setbacks, offers from big Telugu banners started slowing down, and the buzz around her name faded. At the moment, she’s only part of one Telugu film—Mass Jathara opposite Ravi Teja.

But just when things seemed to be slipping out of her hands, she’s now landed a solid project with Akhil Akkineni.
The film will be directed by Murali Kishore Abburu, who earlier made Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha. It’s being produced by Manam Entertainment and Sithara Entertainments.

The movie is said to be a mass family entertainer set in the Chittoor backdrop and marks Akhil’s sixth film.
For Sreeleela, this is a big chance. If the film turns out to be a hit, it could put her back in the race and open the doors to more films with rising Telugu stars.

Meanwhile, she’s also working on a Bollywood film with Kartik Aaryan and might soon sign another big Hindi project. If everything falls into place, this film could well be the comeback vehicle for not only Sreeleela but also for Akhil.
