The long-standing speculation about a collaboration between two of India’s biggest cinema icons can finally be put to rest. According to insider Rahul Raut (PeepingMoon.com), it is confirmed that Allu Arjun will headline Atlee’s upcoming mega-budget, two-hero period saga.
Allu Arjun has given his nod to the project, and sources reveal that it will likely be his next after Pushpa 2.

The film will be produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, which produced Robo, Sarkar, Beast, Jailer, and the upcoming Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj film Coolie.
The sources indicate that the film’s production cost could exceed 600 crores.

Interestingly, this is the same project that was initially planned with Salman Khan. However, Sun Pictures’ refused to fund a film lead by Salman as he is no longer commercially viable for such a huge project. The film shifted back to Allu Arjun, who was always Atlee’s first choice.
The film is a high-octane period saga with a reincarnation theme. It promises to deliver stunning visuals and grand-scale storytelling. It is a two-hero project, though the second male lead is yet to be locked.

The film will also feature three leading heroines, with Janhvi Kapoor reportedly in contention for one of the roles.
This project has now taken priority over Allu Arjun’s mythological film with Trivikram Srinivas, which requires extensive script development and pre-production.
With that film delayed until 2026, Atlee’s film is being fast-tracked, with plans to wrap it up by the first quarter of next year.
