Superstar Rajinikanth is the biggest name in South Indian cinema and there are no second thoughts on this matter. However, of late, Rajini’s branding appears to be going down alarmingly.
After delivering a blockbuster with Jailer, everyone thought Rajini has regained his mojo and he would continue to deliver big time again. However, it has been anything but smooth going since then.

Not many even know about Lal Salaam which released after Jailer. This film was a washout at the box offices in the Telugu states and not many people even know about this film.
Shockingly enough, the same appears to be the case with Rajini’s upcoming film Vettaiyan as well. This film is arriving on the 10th of October and again, not many Telugu audience even know about the existence of this film in the first place.

The recently released song that was composed by Anirudh is making some noise on social media. But at the ground level, there is no talk about this film as there is still uncertainty on whether or not it will actually release in Telugu.
The lack of the director’s face value and lack of commercial appeal has been working against Rajini’s films in the recent past. But luckily, he has Coolie which is coming up soon and it is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
