After Kalki 2898 AD, Kanguva emerges as the next major pan-India film blending fantasy and VFX in a historical setting.

Suriya, who has been awaiting a proper theatrical success for a long time, is anticipated to deliver with Kanguva. Directed by Siruthai Siva, this period action drama explores the concept of past lives and stands as Suriya’s most ambitious project to date.

The promotional material released so far has been impressive. Despite multiple updates from the production house, fans were disappointed that the release date had not been announced—until now. Kanguva is set to arrive in cinemas on October 10th this year.

Adding to the excitement, Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, is also scheduled for release on the same day. This potential clash could impact box office collections for both films.

Kanguva features Bobby Deol as the antagonist and Bollywood actress Disha Patani as the leading lady. The film is produced jointly by Studio Green and UV Creations, with Devi Sri Prasad composing the music.

In another twist, Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra, with a recently unveiled release date and an intriguing poster, is also set to release on October 10th. The poster features Alia staring at the ground with a backpack, against a cyberpunk-inspired backdrop in hues of blue, purple, and pink.

This sets up a three-way clash at the box office on October 10th. Initially, NTR’s Devara was also slated for an October 10th release but has since been rescheduled to September 27th.
