Telangana government believes that such move will be a major asset as Hyderabad tries to evolve into a global destination. The government is also planning to ease regulations to setup world class bars and pubs which will operate with longer opening hours.
Along with this, new pubs will also be allowed to install microbreweries and brew their beer onsite along the lines of such pubs in Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi. Currently Hyderabad lags behind the availability of international liquor brands. So the government is also planning to introduce a ‘wine culture’ in the city by increasing their availability. The new liquor policy will come in to force from July 1st.
