Ruling Telugu Desam Party had opened its account in the MLC elections. The counting is underway in AP for the two Teachers Quota MLC seats. Dr. AS Ramakrishna who has the support of TDP and 33 Teachers Associations cruised to victory for the Krishna-Guntur districts seat.
Ramakrishna got 6990 votes of the total 13400 votes present. He got the votes needed for the win by first priority votes itself. Counting is underway for the East and West Godavari districts MLC seat.
This win will come as huge boost to the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad, Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam are the two graduate MLC seats that are going for election in Telangana. Counting is going on there and the result is likely to be out by evening.
