Exhibitors Strike: No Ticket Hikes for Upcoming Biggies!

The Telangana Exhibitors Association has officially decided to stop the culture of hiked ticket prices in single screens. The association resolved that regardless of government permissions or special GOs, they will no longer increase rates for big ticket films. This sensational decision is backed by top names like Shirish and Sunil Narang, who agree that saving the single screen ecosystem is a priority.

The primary goal is to lure audiences back to theaters by making movie-going affordable again. While this is a win for the common man, it creates an immediate crisis for high budget projects nearing release. Specifically, it upends the financial plans of new producers who were banking heavily on ticket hikes and benefit shows to recover their massive investments.

This No Hike rule marks a turning point for the 2026 box office landscape in Nizam. If strictly followed, producers will have to find new ways to hit their break-even targets without relying on the audience’s pockets. All eyes are now on the upcoming summer releases to see if the industry will actually stick to this friendly pricing or if the producers will find a way to push back.

Telangana exhibitors have drawn a line in the sand, prioritizing the survival of the theater experience over individual film profits. While this move protects the long-term health of the industry, it puts immediate pressure on the June 4 releases. In a year defined by shifting dynamics, the theaters have finally reclaimed their voice against the hike culture.
