Telugu heroes now having a pan India appeal?

The trend of South Indian actors appearing in advertisements began with Mahesh Babu who endorsed a soft drink, followed not long after by Samantha who encouraged people to use a certain brand of room freshner. With this lead, many South Indian actors joined the fray, the latest being Allu Arjun appearing in a toothpaste advertisement. With this comes up the thought if South Indian actors are now having a pan India appeal?

Ad filmmaker, Prahlad Kakkar explains that there used to be resentment among the South Indian audience when ads with Bollywood celebrities were translated to their local languages. This led to the trend of South Indian film stars doing their own ads. Now, however, there is a wider recognition of South Indian movies and consequently its film stars. With this added recall value, these stars can be a good bet for filmmakers!
